Framing Your Artwork

Choosing how to frame your artwork is an important part of making it feel at home in your space.

Because every room, every interior style, and every personal taste is different, the artworks from WDYGTF.com are sold unframed.

This gives you full freedom to select a frame that truly complements both the piece and the surroundings where it will hang.

Below you’ll find everything you need to know about why the artworks arrive unframed and how to choose the perfect frame for your home.

Why we do not offer framed prints as standard
Your Home,
Your Style

Framing is deeply personal. A frame that looks perfect in one home may feel completely out of place in another.

By selecting your own frame, you can match the artwork to your interior—whether you prefer clean lines, classic wood, high-contrast black frames, or something more bold and artistic.

This ensures your final presentation reflects your taste, not a generic choice.

Better
Quality Control

When you choose your own frame locally, you’re able to examine the craftsmanship, materials, and finish with your own eyes.

Light, texture, and colour are all easier to judge in person. This results in a higher-quality, longer-lasting frame that is truly suited to the artwork.

Protecting
the Print

Frames with glass are vulnerable during transport. Even small impacts can cause cracks, scratches, or pressure damage to the Artwork. By shipping the pieces unframed, the artwork arrives safely, without the risks that come with shipping fragile material.

This means you receive the painting in perfect condition, exactly as intended.

ENABLES
FREE POSTAGE

Framed artwork is heavier, bulkier, and requires much larger packaging. This would force us to add postage fees to cover the extra weight, padding, and oversized parcel requirements.

By sending the artwork unframed, shipping remains free and you avoid paying for packaging you don’t actually need.

How to Choose the Right Frame
Match with
Your Interior

Think about the room where the artwork will live. Are the colours warm or cool? Is the style minimal, modern, rustic, or traditional?

A frame can either blend in subtly or stand out as a design element—both are valid choices, depending on your taste.

Consider the Mood
of the Artwork

For black-and-white or greyscale pieces, frames in black, white, oak, or deep wood tones often work beautifully.

Clean, narrow frames create a modern look, while thicker, textured frames offer a more classic presence.

Think
About Size

Frames with surrounds (mounts) offer a more gallery-like feel and add breathing space around the artwork.

Without a surround, the art feels more direct and bold. We provide a ready made surround to our artwork, but sometimes black works better depending on your room and frame choice.

Plastic, Glass
or Float Glass

You can choose how your artwork is glazed when framing: traditional glass, lightweight plastic, or float glass.

Each option has its own look and level of protection, allowing you to select what best suits your space and style.
